On Saturday September 24th, a group of local San Francisco activists hosted a fundraiser on Calle 24, at Galería de la Raza to raise funds for earthquake victims of Oaxaca Chiapas, and Mexico City. The event was put together by Bobbie Lopez, Ani Rivera, Sunny Angulo, Lito Sandoval, Jon Jacobo, and Paulina Maldonado.
We hosted around 300+ community members, who gathered to listen to live music, poetry readings, and watch a live dance performance. The community was joined by local elected officials such as Supervisor Jane Kim, Supervisor Aron Peskin, College Board of Trustee Tom Tomprano, and Superior Court Judge Victor Hwang.
The event managed to raise a grand total of $11,000 which will go directly to NGO’s who are helping on the ground in both impacted regions of Mexico.

Month-long silent auction fundraiser. Oct. 3rd- Nov. 3rd. @Alley Cat Books. Our artist friends have come together to create a show to benefit those affected by recent disasters in Mexico, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. All art is on silent auction for the month, with auction winners able to choose the area that receives the money from each piece.
