About the event
Medicine for Nightmares is thrilled to once again collaborate with this beloved Oakland space to present an evening of poetry for the people.
In addition to two powerful featured readers, the night will include a ten-slot open mic. Bring your poems, essays, songs, or stories to share.

Sarah O’NealA Moroccan and Black artist and writer born and raised in the Bay Area, Sarah’s work grapples with the impact of colonial violence on familial memory and our most intimate relationships. Her writing has appeared in the Institute for Palestine Studies, KQED, Oaklandside, The Nation, and Bandcamp. When she is not writing, Sarah can be found swimming laps, imagining the end of empire, or sharing on IG (@atayqueen) and Substack (@bintelnass).
