Carnaval San Francisco 2023 King & Queen Competition Returns at KQED With Colorful Dance-Off Among Talented Bay Area Performers!
Carnaval San Francisco’s annual King and Queen Competition is a colorful dance-off judged by a panel of leaders and master artists from the Bay Area’s dance community. The event will feature captivating performances from dancers with moves rooted in Latin American and Caribbean traditions, and contestants will be scored on their dance technique, costume, Carnaval spirit and the ability to engage the audience.
The competition will take place again at The Commons inside KQED’s newly refurbished headquarters at 2601 Mariposa Street in San Francisco. Events will be presented both live and via livestream. Tickets to the King and Queen Competition are $25 (in-person) and $10 (online): https://www.kqed.org/event/3009

Contest winners will serve as the Official Ambassadors at the Carnaval San Francisco Grand Parade, be featured with their own float in the parade, and win a $500 cash prize!
