The holiday was proclaimed by President Barack Obama in 2014. It is observed in various states, including California, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas, with different levels of recognition.
The parade and festival are scheduled for April 12th, 2025, 11pm-6pm, in Calle 24 The Latino Cultural District, and will feature various vendors, music and entertainment. It is a free family event.
