About the event
CubaCaribe – now celebrating its 20th season – today announced its 17th Annual Festival of Dance & Music featuring two weeks of world premieres, performances, master classes, and celebrations at venues in San Francisco. The first weekend features performances of Mouth of a Shark, a world premiere work choreographed and directed by CubaCaribe Artistic Director and Co-Founder Ramón Ramos Alayo and performed by Alayo Dance Company at ODC Theater (3153 17th Street). The second weekend of the Festival, entitled Reunión/Gathering, features a mixed program showcasing performances by local and visiting companies: Alafia Dance Ensemble (San Francisco), Agua Doce (Santa Cruz, CA), Cuicacalli (San Francisco), Emilio Hernandez Gonzalez (Havana, Cuba), and Los Lupeños de San José (San Jose, CA) at Dance Mission Theater (3316 24th Street).
